McGuinnessDomains is an affiliate of the McGuinnessPublishing, founded by Tim McGuinness, and therein lays a story.

in late 1993 the World Wide Web came into existence, based upon a new markup language called HTML (Hyper Text Mark-up Language). This HTML thing was based upon previous attempts to created a dynamic but dirt-simple language that could create interactive content (the concept of a guy named Alan Kay back in the early 1980′s). So, CERN, the Swiss Nuclear Powered Nerds, made this HTML a standard, and the world went “yawn” – for a while. Then in 1994 some crazy guys started making “web” pages, and putting them where people could get to them (if you had access to the internet and a browser), but not many people paid any attention. After all America On-Line (AOL for those of you in New Jersey) was the big deal – Warner even bought them and changed its name to AOL Time Warner (for a while).

By 1995, some of us saw the future of communications. McGuinnessPublishing launched its first web-pages, and even a couple of web-sites. RomanceCoupons was one of the first. This gave the push to formally make McGuinnessPublishing a web publisher.

Since that time, McGuinnessPublishing has launched, and publishes, thousands of websites. Some amazing, some dumb. But so it goes with people too, right?

Now back to McGuinnessDomains. McGuinnessDomains is simply the holding company for the domain names that drive McGuinnessPublishing’s web universe.
